The book, Happiness, the Joy from Living, dares to take on humanity's longest running yearning since the beginning of time. Along with his drive for survival and procreation, seeking happiness is man's oldest craving, in spite of herculean human effort, unbelievable expenditure of resources and employment of modern technology and science, yet its unlimited and effortless source and supply are but a viewpoint away. The disconnect between source and acquisition has occupied humanity's time and attention forever, it seems, and continues to echo through the ages, without abetment. No matter what the vantage point is or one's financial resources and social status, the ever present human outcry for happiness and contentment remains unchanged.
About the Author
John Milionis, born in Greece as an American citizen, came to America in 1946 at the age of 12. He crossed the Atlantic, a 13-day trip, by himself. He did not speak a word of English but was able to go through 12 grades of primary education in 7 years. He holds a BA degree from University of Michigan and a DO degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a Pediatric Residency in Detroit, MI. He practiced general pediatrics in Saginaw, MI and sought further studies in Behavioral Pediatrics. He was elected president of the American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians in 1974 and now lives in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife Mary and their beautiful little Shih Tzu, Rayna. He chaired Pediatric Departments in Saginaw, MI, Dallas, TX and Mesquite, TX. He was medical director of the Pediatric Drug Abuse Program and Adolescent Psychiatric Unit at Tri City Health Center, Dallas, TX and Planning for Living in Saginaw, MI. He held positions as Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and North Texas University. He was recognized by the President of Guatemala for philanthropic services and voted pediatrician of the year by the citizens of Mesquite, TX in 1994 and 1995. Besides Happiness, the Joy from Living, he has two other books in process.
