About the Author

These books have been written for the reader’s enjoyment by poet and author Edward David. They have generally been written in the traditional forms and style using metrical structures and rhyme.

Edward David is an eighty years old man and has done many things in his life. He grew up in the small historical town of North Tarrytown in New York State on the Hudson River.

At age six write his first poem. At age thirteen while in the seventh grade he became an avid reader. The first class of the day was a reading class. The students checked out a book and were given three weeks to read it and turn in a book report in the fourth week. Well he could not put the book down and read it through all his other classes, reading a book a day. At the end of the school year he received a report that listed his subjects on his report card and next to each was his final grade. The first subject was reading and showed an A. The rest of the subjects were all marked with an F. it must have confused his parents but they sent him to summer school and he passed the tests and went to the next grade the following year. While in his young teens he spent much of his time walking the huge estates of the Rockefeller family. The estate was very extensive with many miles of woods and lakes and Eagle Mountain and a flowing stream of briskly flowing water. There were wild deal roaming freely on the land. Like so many of the youth of the day he had spent several years as a boy scout that quit that quit and joined the sea scouts. At a young age he earned his spending money working as a newspaper boy and caddying at a golf club and setting pins in the local bowling alley. At age seventeen he joined the army serving during the Korean War. After that he joined and served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. When honorably discharged he went to work for Pan American Airways in New York City. Then after six years in Pan American Airways he quit and moved with his wife and two daughters to Phoenix, Arizona, a calmer place to raise the children.

He worked in a large machine works as one of the managers. During his life he has worked as a car and truck and used car salesman then tried phone sales and as a store manager. He had worked for a while as a night watchmen for a lumber company in New York City and in security for a a large food chain and had worked as a manager for a small grocery store. He worked other small odd jobs during his life. Now he is a writer and a poet. When growing up in a new Terrytown in New York State his father took him to union meetings of the auto workers union. And he saw and felt the pain the workers felt when they stood and aired their grievances. As a child he heard over the radio that the Japanese had attached Pearl Harbor and the anger people felt. He lived through the time of war with Germany and saw the end of the war when they danced in the streets and the troops came home.
