A Short Philosophical and Poetic Journey

Hassan Ajami is a Lebanese author and freelance journalist. He received his B.A. from the American University of Beirut, and his M.A. from Columbia University in New York. This book is a collection of poems and philosophical arguments and insights. It analyzes and deconstructs certain important concepts such as language, mind and the universe. And it shows how language is a basic source of human thought, and how the world is a communication pattern. Many of the ideas expressed in this book are based on Sufism. The author relies on poetry and prose in order to express his deep belief in the extensively studied modern and ancient philosophy. Ajami has written seventeen books, published in Arabic, covering topics in philosophy, culture and literature, in addition to publishing a book in English entitled Arab-Islamic Communication & Arabic newspapers and periodicals. He is known in the Arab world as a defender of science and democracy. Ajami is teaching Arabic language and Arab-Islamic culture in the wonderful state of Arizona in the United States.
